Santuario Guadalupana is located inside a secluded nature preserve nestled in a mountain valley above the picturesque 300 year old colonial village of Pirenopolis, Brazil. We are about a 2 1/2 hour drive from the nations’ capital, Brasilia, and 45 minutes from Anapolis or Abadiania. This 125 acre preserve is co-owned by six families and adjoins two other eco-preserves and a state park. Several trails lead further into wilderness areas. We have a river on our land with two large waterfalls and a tropical forest with wild orchids, bromeliads, and over 165 species of birds as well as exotic wildlife including monkeys, ocelots and other rare mammals.
Here we maintain a large organic vegetable garden and orchard including medicinal plants. Stillness and vast natural beauty create a sanctuary where deep healing work can occur. Our guests become our family and are encouraged to participate in our unusual lifestyle and meet our Brazilian friends and explore their unique culture. Our pousadinha (small inn) can accommodate 6-8 people with shared bathrooms. We serve delicious vegetarian meals (fish and chicken on request).
